Today I arrived in Sifnos with my guests aboard, Karen and Larry. We spent about 10 hours on the water and arrived around 5 pm.
The conditions were calm but not perfectly flat and the weather warm but not hot. Everyone had a chance to take a nap during the run and Karen and Larry spent some time familiarizing themselves with various bits of technology, and boat systems as well.
On our arrival in Sifnos, there was ample room to dock, unlike Hydra last night that was packed to the gills. So we docked easily. For me it was the first time I have Med moored with my anchor out to hold the bow. So it is a new variable that I need to manage in my head while trying to reverse this big box into a slip. I was happy to have light winds. It ended up working out just fine.
A short bike ride ensued and a nice dinner, treat of Karen and Larry. As should happen during such lazy evenings on a quaint island, ice cream was consumed during the stroll to the boat while trying to convince each other to chase various carrots we thought each should chase.
Tomorrow we will remain here and explore further. Look for a little bit of technology for a boat problem and enjoy more quaintness.
Till then I shall stop distracting with words and just offer a modest picture or two from my bike ride.
