And We’re Back

August 14, 2022

This space has been silent for a long time but much has been brewing. A couple of weeks ago, Jinhee’s retirement was finally announced publicly, so we can talk about it now.

There is still some work to be done before she is out the door, so last week we travelled to Lundin’s Eagle mine in Marquette, MI. As usual, jinhee worked while I rode my bike. It was a good week putting in about 400km of riding on awesome roads and near perfect weather.

I love Marquette, MI because it has a vibrant community with good food, interesting people and great roads for cycling. (Jinhee loves the beer as much as the food.)

Yesterday we left Marquette for the boat and today completed the 20 hour drive to find Home Free sitting pretty right were she was tied up. We are finally contemplating where we will spend the winter on the boat, but without a schedule driving our decisions.

That’s it for now. Perhaps when we do something even more interesting another update will be forthcoming.

  1. Welcome back Don and tell Jinhee I can recommend retirement. I’ve really enjoyed my first 6 months. The 18th August marks the 5th anniversary of Home Free, I cannot believe where the time has gone. I look forward to your next post. David.

  2. Where are you off to now? Boat needs a run after two month vacation!

    1. We have no real plans yet. This is just a boat check and make lists of work to be done. It is worth noting that the last repair done by pfcr industries got a gold star approval rating. So I may use those services again if they are still available in future.
