Christmas Is Coming

December 21, 2023

Over the past few weeks I have been delaying so many little project that they have been piling up. But sitting on a dock and spurred on by the first full day of rain we have experienced in a very long time, the projects were in full swing today.

The first project was to replace the rod hanger in the stern cockpit. While I was away one half of my prior installation fell down! That was cleaned and put back up this morning.

Next up, we have a couple of electrical outlets/boxes that have broken and finding parts in North America has been difficult (they are Italian). I finally located the parts and so now those have been replaced.

Then the engine room needed some love. I changed out all of my oil/filters earlier in the week and hadn’t finished the clean up. Now it is looking spiffy again.

As I was cleaning, I noted that some of my task lights had gone out. These old things don’t react well to heat and the bulbs keep failing so I purchased some alternate lights a while ago, but never ‘got around to’ installing them (okay, I was lazy) but today a new light was installed. It’s pretty cool. LED, bright and inexpensive. I need more.

After that it was all cleaning and organizing before Megan and Emile arrive tomorrow.

Jinhee has also been busy preparing the boat as well, and it looks like Christmas despite the tiny, tiny size of the tree.
