I have put an end to the frankenscooter project. After spending lots of time trying to get a working scooter, I cannot and I don’t know why. I have stripped most of the useful parts (including all those brand new parts I bought) from the scooters and will store them, but the scooters themselves are heading for the garbage.
Notably, this is another expense caused by storing my boat for the summer in Grenada. Just add that to the unexpected costs column.
I will just buy another one or two when I can find them at a reasonable price.
Goodbye Xiaomi Scooters, you will be missed.
It is worth noting that Xiaomi scooters are a bit hard to find, but these scooters are the ‘same’ as ninebot scooters (or at least they are manufactured by ninebot) and so should have many interchangeable parts.
