The past year has been very busy and posting has not been my greatest priority. Just the same I am trying to keep things up to date, as much for helping me remember major events as to keep family and friends updated.
In mid-March I made the significant decision to ship Home Free to the UK and continue my cruising on and near her home country. Originally built for the UK, Home Free will be right at home in the UK and/or Europe again, and I miss cycling in places where the roads are longer than 20km.
Home Free was put aboard the STINNES Mistral on May 22nd and is now underway to Southampton, UK. I will really miss the warm waters of the Caribbean, but my interest in history and cycling overwhelm my love of warm water and the relaxed atmosphere in the many beautiful countries surrounding the Caribbean Sea.

Through the winter I have also been actively engaged in updating my resume with a certification from Rotman Business School/University of Toronto for work as a corporate director. This past weekend I finished that ICD program and passed the written exam.
Next up I am looking for opportunities to help companies with their governance. It is time to put some of my governance and business experience to work again. That may mean more time in Canada, but given the recent push for countries like Canada to become more independent from the USA, it is clearly time for me to get back to leading and not relaxing.
Goodbye Caribbean sunsets! Hello to the old world.
