I already mentioned that I was putting in a new oven, and this post is just a placeholder that I completed that task.
It is remarkably easy to remove and install an oven, and it was also inexpensive to buy a new (very basic) oven. I purchased this Bosch (HHF113B.0B) oven for just C$570, including delivery that was on-time and painless. I felt like a king for a day when this project went so easily and so fast.

I don’t know what I am going to cook, but at least I CAN cook now.
(I may not have described the problem. The old oven seemed to work fine, it was just the fancy Bosch controls that had failed. The oven itself turned on but no changes to settings could be made. I probably could have replaced the control panel, but the cost of a technician for two hours was just a little bit less than replacing the oven with this one. End result, another device goes to the waste bin and I have a new oven, all because of about $5-10 worth of electronics.)
