Swimming with the Sharks

March 11, 2022

Today we snorkelled in Manjack Bay, the sharks let us keep our toes as we found lots of colourful fish and other sea life. Later in the day we moved to White Sound (Green Turtle Cay), but there was no room at the Club/Resort, so we are simply anchored in the bay with about 300 degrees of protection from the coming storm.

There is a Nordhavn 55 (Adventure) docked right behind us. We met the owners briefly yesterday but didn’t really have a chance to get to know them. They are notable because they ran ‘the kitchen’ after Hurricane Dorian, using their Nordhavn and the generosity of hundreds of donors, to keep potable water, electricity and food going for at least some of the people of the Abacos for months. One of the benefits of a Nordhavn is it is designed and outfitted to sustain life for a long, long time.

Enough words, see the photos and videos below…

Sharks zipping about looking for easy food.
Here are the sharks and rays swimming . . .
Rays playing under the dinghy
They like to brush up against you looking for a handout . . . very rubbery.
